Privacy & data use
Long Haul is a free trucking game run by Cody. We use player information to run the game, keep accounts secure, and provide the community features players choose to use. We do not sell or rent your personal information, run advertisements, or share your information for targeted advertising.
Your account
We use your email address for signing in, verifying your account, password recovery, security notices, and answering requests about your account. We do not use it for marketing or add you to mailing lists.
We store your chosen name, email address, account identifiers, verification status, and a protected password hash. Other players cannot see your email address or password through the game. Your account name and driver name may be visible to other players; you can use a nickname.
Long Haul accounts are for people aged 13 and up. We ask you to confirm this when you sign up; we do not ask for your date of birth. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, contact us so we can investigate and remove their account information.
Your game and community activity
We save your driver, truck, trips, money, company membership, and other game progress so you can return to the same game. Driver standings and company information are visible to other players where the game shows them.
If you use a referral code, we save who invited you, your qualifying deliveries, and bonus payments. Your inviter can see your driver name and referral progress, but not your email address. Referral history stays with your account when you reset your driver so a bonus cannot be claimed twice.
If you use the forum or CB radio, we store your posts and messages. Profile pictures, biographies, locations, signatures, and screenshots are optional. Your profile and public discussions are visible to other signed-in players. Company discussions are available to current members of that company.
Private messages are available to their sender and recipient through the site. They are stored on our servers and are not end-to-end encrypted. A participant can report an individual message, which sends a copy of that message to authorized moderators. Forum staff cannot browse other players’ private inboxes. The operator and hosting provider may need access to stored data to maintain the service, investigate abuse, or meet legal obligations.
Content filters check text to help keep the community suitable for players aged 13 and up. We store reports, restrictions, and edit and moderation history to investigate problems and recover removed content. Please do not post your password, home address, phone number, or other information you want to keep private.
Optional forum notifications
If you enable phone notifications, we store your browser’s delivery address, encryption keys, notification choices, and the last time that device was active in the game. We use these to send alerts you chose and avoid sending them while you are playing. Your browser’s push provider, such as Apple, Google, Mozilla, or Microsoft, delivers encrypted alerts. We do not include post or private-message text in them. Turning notifications off removes that device’s subscription; deleting your account removes all its subscriptions. We keep a short delivery history to prevent duplicate alerts.
Cookies and information from your browser
We use cookies to keep you signed in and support security checks. Your browser may also store your appearance settings, forum drafts, and preview-game progress. You can clear this information through your browser settings; doing so can sign you out and erase local drafts or preview progress.
Our login and hosting systems process technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, request times, and error logs. We use it to prevent abuse, troubleshoot problems, and keep the service working. We do not use advertising cookies or track your activity across other sites for advertising.
Service providers and sharing
Cloudflare hosts the website and database, delivers account emails, and provides network and security services. We use Cloudflare Turnstile during signup to help block automated accounts. It checks browser and connection information. These services process information needed to provide them. Cloudflare describes its practices in its privacy policy.
Messages sent to our privacy address are forwarded to the operator’s mailbox. Cloudflare and the receiving email provider process those messages to deliver them. We use their contents to answer and resolve your request.
We may disclose information when required by law or when necessary to investigate abuse or protect players and the service. We do not sell player data to advertisers or data brokers. Links posted by players lead to independent websites with their own privacy practices.
Keeping and deleting information
We keep account and game information while your account is in use. A driver reset starts your game over; it does not delete your login account or community history.
When your account is deleted, we remove its login information, sessions, driver save, and current forum profile. Posts and private-message history may remain to preserve conversations, with the author shown as “Former driver.” Text, screenshots, or earlier profile details may still identify you if you included them. Contact us to request removal of personal information from that content or its edit history.
We retain moderation and security records only as needed to resolve abuse, maintain service integrity, or meet legal obligations. Removed content may remain in moderation history, and backups may retain earlier copies until those backups expire. We do not promise that deleting an account instantly removes every copy of every message.
Your choices and requests
You can edit or clear optional profile details, manage your forum follows, hide posts from other drivers, and block private messages. Contact privacy@longhaulgame.com to ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information, including account deletion. We may ask you to verify that the account is yours. Never send us your password.
Your legal rights depend on where you live. Where applicable, you may also request a copy of your information, object to or restrict certain uses, or raise a concern with your local privacy authority. We will handle requests under the laws that apply to you.
Changes and contact
We will update this page when our practices change and display the date above. We will give additional notice when a significant change requires it. Privacy questions go directly to Long Haul’s operator at privacy@longhaulgame.com.
